Not exactly a new year's resolution but I have finally got round to reading Cathy Dobson's book Planet Germany. It's the story of a British family coming to terms with living in Germany and trying very hard to assimilate properly and become echte Deutscher (excuse my German).
It's a really great read I shouldn't have left it so long! I have been spending quite a bit of time in Germany recently and it rings very true.
